How do you define joy?

How do you define joy is a very personal quest.  The advertising folks try to convince us joy is the latest this and the future that, but joy is truly defined by personal experience and mindset. What brings me joy may mean nothing to you. There is no one size fits all when it comes to the joy in our hearts. We do, however, know that joy is a choice for all. It can be seen in the smallest details only when one's senses are open to the present moment and the experience it offers. This openness is a choice. We choose to see the beauty in the moment, big or small, comedic or even tragic. We may not have a choice about life's circumstances, but we always have a choice about our mindset and response.

We are constantly connected in this media centered society with 24 hour news channels, streaming apps on our phones, and all things digital in our homes, on our jobs, in our cars, and even in the watches on our wrists.  Yet, are we more connected to this time and space?  Do we really inhale the wonders of this amazing life? Those sweet little moments are where I recognize true joy.  I am learning to be intentionally joy-full by keeping the joy of this life in focus as I think joy, speak joy, see joy, choose joy and feel more joy.  Joy often comes with a heart of thanksgiving for all that this blessed life offers.
